As in 2017, the vast majority of the purchased dealerships were long-established, multigenerational stores and the purchasers were mainly mid to large, privately held dealership organizations. There was minimal activity from public companies and private equity groups. The firm anticipates that dealership buy-sell activity will remain high in 2019.
