Through August of 2016, the transaction team at BSM has closed 27 dealership transactions, many of which have involved multi-rooftop dealerships. These transactions occurred across 16 different states. Fifty two percent of the transactions were generational change driven; i.e, seller was retiring and getting out of the business. In terms of brand activity, Harley-Davidson leads the pack with 8 stores closed, followed by Chevrolet and Ford tied at 5 each, followed by Kia with 4, and Nissan and BMW tied at 3 each. Other brands involved this year include BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley, Cadillac, Hyundai, Lincoln, Maserati, Mazda, Subaru, Volvo, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Toyota, Buick GMC, and a smattering of metric motorcycle brands.
